Ch Vineyards Bad Boy

Irish Setters - Ch Vineyards Bad Boy Ch Vineyards Bad Boy is shown with his friend and handler, Laura King.  This picture was taken last Fall by Laura's associate, Erin Gimbut, who also shows Bad Boy.  Besides being a talented dog handler and groomer, Erin is also an accomplished photographer.

Bad Boy had a fantastic trip to the East Coast for the Westminster weekend in January. There are several very prestigious shows prior to Westminster. Bad Boy was Best of Opposite Sex at the BASS and got an Award of Merit at another. Then, at Westminster itself, Bad Boy got an Award of Merit. We are very proud of him. He ended February as the #2 Irish Setter, Canine Chronicle All breed statistics. The February, 2009, International KC cluster weekend in Chicago was another good one for Bad Boy. He won Best of Breed three of the four days and got a Group 4 on Sunday. Bad Boy was just four in January. In Nashville, TN, the weekend of March 5th - March 8th, Bad Boy got two Group firsts and two Group seconds.

Bad Boy is the son of our Ch Vineyards Toora Loora ROM.  Toora Loora has eight champion children already, with the "C" litter still to be shown.  Bad Boy's litter was the Irish Setter Club of America litter of the year for 2006 and Toora Loora was the dam (mother) of the year.

Contender wins

4 Point Major

Bad Boy gets

Westminster AOM!

Vineyards Contender is shown winning a four point major at the Milwaukee Irish Setter Specialty in February, 2009. He is shown by Erin Gimbut. He was shown twice that weekend, winning Best of Winners both days, getting his second and third majors. Contender is a full younger brother of our Bad Boy. He will be shown next at the Irish Setter Club of America National Specialty in June. He has 14 points, 3 majors. We are excited about Contender's special qualities: he is very, very dark in color, has good bone and substance, and is quite showy.

Ch Vineyards Bad Boy is shown winning an Award of Merit at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club in Madison Square Garden in February of 2009 under Judge Mrs. Anne Bolus. The AOM win capped a wonderful "Westminster Weekend" with Bad Boy winning an additional AOM and a Best Opposite Sex award at the BASS show in the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

Bad Boy, who finished 2008 as the #6 Irish Setter and who received an invitation to Westminster, has continued his winning ways in 2009.

Bad Boy, who is elegant and typey and moves like a dream, is one of our "B" litter which won ISCA Litter of the Year a few years ago.  At 17 months of age, he was BOS to his littermate, Belladonna, in sweepstakes at the Michigan National Specialty and made two cuts in breed.  We are very proud of Bad Boy.
