Four week old babies enjoy a nice Spring day. They are the children of BIS Ch Windwood Inferno (Dante) and Ch Vineyards Black Eyed Suzie. The human in the pictures is our son-in-law, Dr. Nadim Salfiti. Credit for the pictures goes to his wife, our daughter, Dr. Kelly Salfiti. |

Irish Setters
Ch Vineyards Bad Boy is shown with his friend and handler, Laura King. This
picture was taken last Fall by Laura's associate, Erin Gimbut, who also shows Bad Boy. Besides being a talented dog handler
and groomer, Erin is also an accomplished photographer.
The International Kennel Club weekend in Chicago just concluded (February
20th through February 24th) was quite a weekend for Bad Boy. Because Bad
Boy is still young (he turned 3 in January), he is only being shown
selectively. There were four days of shows. Competition for Best of Breed
in Irish Setters was very competitive, with 10 champion Irish Setters
competing for the win, most older, more mature, and better known than Bad
Boy. We are very proud that Bad Boy won Best of Breed three of the four
days! In the Sporting Group ring he "made the cut" two of three times.
Bad Boy is the son of our Ch Vineyards Toora Loora ROM. Toora Loora has
eight champion children already, with the "C" litter still to be shown. Bad
Boy's litter was the Irish Setter Club of America litter of the year for
2006 and Toora Loora was the dam (mother) of the year.

Ch Vineyards
Bad Boy is shown winning Best in Specialty Show under Dr. Clyde E. Snow
at the Milwaukee Irish Setter Club Specialty on February 29th. He was
ably shown by Erin Gimbut. This was a wonderful win, as it followed his
winning 3 of 4 Best of Breeds at the International Kennel Club Cluster
in Chicago the weekend before and because the competition was truly
awesome. He followed up the day after the BISS win at the Milwaukee
shows with another Best of Breed win.
The Group One winning picture on the right shows Bad
Boy winning the first of two Group Ones in his home community, the
Quad-Cities of Illinois/Iowa. Judge Charles Trotter recognized his
worth on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Judge Patricia Trotter awarded him the
Group One the next day.
Bad Boy was Best of Opposite Sex
in Sweepstakes to his littermate, Belladonna, at the 2006 Irish Setter
Club of America Specialty in Michigan. At that same specialty, Bad Boy
made two cuts in the Breed competition, a big honor for the
then-17-month-old. |
